My name is Ethan Perry and I am a Senior at Wheaton College majoring in Computer
Science and Math. During my time here I have focused my studies on Software Development
and Data Science. I have found a passion for working with large sets of data through classes
like Methods of Data Analysis (Math251) and Machine Learning (Math398). I have equally enjoyed
my experience in software development through courses like Data Structures, Algorithms, and
Full-Stack Web Development. I was able to utilize skills from those courses during a Summer
('24) research experience in GIS interpolation methods. I then continued this work in the Fall
('24) to create a web-based DEM model viewing site.
Outside of the classroom and academic setting, I really enjoy staying fit and getting outside.
I have found a deep passion for hiking, which allows me to delve into the true peace and safety
found in the mountains. At school, I live in the Outdoors House and I am a trip leader for the
Outdoors Club. In general, I love staying physically fit and I find that setting challenging goals
for myself, like running a half marathon or doing a long hike, gives me the confidence to tackled
any obstacle in my way.
