This is our proud owner Cornelius. It all began in the early 1970s in a small town on the outskirts of Longmeadow Massachusetts. Cornelius “Corny” Fitch, a young man with an eye for opportunity and a passion for cars, worked as a mechanic in a modest garage. He had always been fascinated by the sleek designs and powerful engines of the vehicles passing through his hands, but what intrigued him most wasn’t just how the cars worked—it was how they were sold.
He was just so interested he decided to seek out cars more and more often.
One fateful afternoon, Corny attended a local auto show where he saw an innovative new car model. It was a combination of classic engineering and futuristic design. Inspired by the craftsmanship and bold vision of the car, Corny had an epiphany: he would create a dealership focused on the values of innovation, customer care, and authenticity. But he needed a brand to represent his bold new venture.
Drawing inspiration from other cars, Corny envisioned a brand that would convey strength and sophistication. He combined the letters “P” and “H” to form the name "Phord," inspired by Ford, because they made money, lots of it. Corny was adamant that Phord would be more than just a dealership it would be a statement about a new era in automotive retail.
The next day he bought a dealership, with a small little loan. He then set out creating cars, the cars he still sells today. He decided to price things fairly in order to compete with the well established dealerships. He would never scam anyone, despite what people may say. These false claims were made by haters. And thats the history of Phord!
