Comp 375: Theory of Computation

Spring 2021
This semester is going to be a little unusual due to the Covid-19 epidemic. I will try to keep the list of everything Covid-related in this page.

Calendar

Mask Policy

Faculty, staff, students and visitors will be required to have a mask or face covering available at all times. Masks or face coverings must be worn inside any Wheaton facility where others are present and outside where social distancing cannot be maintained, except where unsafe due to a medical condition or disability.

All community members should bring their own mask when coming to campus, although the college does have a limited supply of masks for community members that on occasion require one. As a result of evolving guidance and research, masks with exhalation valves are not permitted. As some N95 masks have these valves, those will be permitted only with a surgical mask used over the N95 mask. We also recommend community members to refrain from using neck gaiters as their sole face covering while research evolves on its effectiveness of limiting the spread of COVID-19.

Recording of Lectures

Instructor Recording

The instructor may record any or all portions of class meetings for educational purposes. A recording is defined as a video or audio replication or photographic image recorded on devices, including, but not limited to, audio recorders, video recorders, cellular phones, digital cameras, MP3 players, computers, tablets, and other handheld devices that records images and/or sound. At the discretion of the instructor, the recordings may be shared only with students enrolled in the course and will be deleted at the conclusion of the course. Students may not reproduce, post, or distribute any recordings provided by the instructor. In these circumstances, all students participating in the course as well as any guest speakers will be informed that recording may occur.

Student Recording

Wheaton College prohibits recording (as defined above) and transmission of activities (e.g., lectures, discussions) that occur as part of a classroom session by a student unless: (1) Accessibility Services has authorized recording as an academic accommodation for a qualified student with a disability and the student has notified the instructor of that authorization by presenting their accommodation letter; or (2) permission from the course instructor has otherwise been granted. In these circumstances, all students participating in the course as well as any guest speakers will be informed that audio/video recording may occur. If a student is given authorization to record any portion of a classroom session, that student understands and agrees that the recording is for the sole use of the individual student and may not be reproduced, sold, posted online, or otherwise distributed. A student does not have permission to reproduce or post the information on any social media (e.g., YouTube, FaceBook, etc.), or other public or private forum that would infringe on the privacy rights of others represented in the recording. Public distribution of such materials may constitute copyright infringement in violation of federal or state law, or College policy. Violation of this policy may subject a student to disciplinary action under the College's Community Standards or other relevant policies.
