The stepping feet illusion consists of two different colored rectangles moving across a field of black and white vertical lines. The blue rectangle appears to move slower on the black lines and faster on the white lines. The yellow rectangle appears to do the opposite. However, both rectangles are actually moving at the same constant speed. This fact will become more clear if we move the rectangles closer together and if we make the colors of both rectangles match.
