About Design

Design is the process of creating visual or physical solutions to communicate ideas and solve problems.

Design can include graphic design, branding, UI/UX design, product design, and many other areas.

My Connection

I am Alice Ho, a Design student at Wheaton College. I have always enjoyed being creative and finding ways to express my ideas visually. Studying design allows me to explore my creativity while learning how to solve real-world problems.

I am especially interested in graphic design, branding, packaging, and UI/UX design. I enjoy exploring how colors, typography, images, and layouts work together to tell a story and communicate a message.

For me, design is not only about making something look beautiful. It is also about understanding people, sharing ideas, and creating meaningful experiences.

How to Get Involved?

You do not need to be an expert to start learning design. Anyone can explore design through practice, curiosity, and experimentation.

Here are some ways to get started:

  1. Learn the basics. Explore color theory, typography, composition, and visual communication.
  2. Try design software. Practice with tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Figma.
  3. Create personal projects. Design a poster, logo, social media graphic, or app interface about something you enjoy.
  4. Find inspiration. Explore other designers' work and notice how they use colors, shapes, and layouts.
  5. Share your work. Build a portfolio, ask for feedback, and keep practicing to improve your skills.
