Part II -- The Web minus content is just a Hollywood Prop
Past Choices of Ethical Issues (after Part I)
The next phase of this project requires you to "get current".
This means you'll have to start reading:
- the technical section of current daily newspapers (e.g., The Wallstreet Journal has a good one)
- current issues of periodicals
- the web
You must get in the habit of reading through a daily newspaper(s) (an online version is ok) as well as
becoming familiar with the date of arrival (to our library) of those periodicals that
you'll track throughout the semester. Nothing is worse than reading outdated stuff on the Web!
(Read that last sentence again unless of course you've already re-read it once).
Here is an example of the type of outline I'm looking for. While each of your Web pages will ultimately differ according to "look and feel", its important that we all start from the same framework.
Summary of Work due TBA in class:
a typed, neat, error-free outline which includes:
- your (working) project title
- a one to two paragraph summary of your issue (no opinions here please); double-space all text
- a one to two paragraph summary of why you want to educate others
about this topic (i.e., why should someone be a more informed citizen in this area?)
- at least 5 "keywords" with definitions,
- at least 2 recent quotes about the issue (include quote, who said it, title/who they are, and source)
- at least 3 recent and complete bibliographic references to articles on your topic (single-space all references);
at least one of the three references must not be from the web
