| By David Mark LeBlanc (age 13) Yesterday we went into Sydney on the train. It was really exciting! From the train we saw beautiful landscapes. When we arrived in Sydney we bought our ferry tickets. We walked through the bustling wharf and to the dock. Very shortly our boat docked and we took top seats to get a better view. The ferry was great. We rode right past the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Bridge! It was a dream come true for me, to see one of the world's most popular sights was breathtaking! After the ferry ride, we went to the sky ride. It was like a roller coaster ride. Then finally we got into the zoo and began exploring. We saw koalas, huge pelicans, kangaroos, wallibies, birds, platypus, snakes, a crocky ("she be right, Dad, she be right!"), gorillas, chimpanzees, bears, birds of prey, seals, giraffees, penguins, wombats, dingos, meerkats, red pandas, lizards, snow leopards, spider monkies, my favorite, lions, and tigers! It was our best field trip ever! |

| By Jonathan Dedus LeBlanc (age 11) On September 8, 2004 my brother’s Dave, Josh, Nathan, and I went to the Sydney Zoo with our mom. When we got in to Sydney we took a ferry to the zoo and we went past the Opera House and Sydney Bridge. When we got off the ferry we walked to the entrance. There was a sky ride. We got in and then we took off. It was a six-seater and it was the first time we went on a sky ride. We went right over the zoo and when we got to the top we saw the Sydney Opera House. At the zoo we saw the lions and a tiger and some gorillas. The boss gorilla was named “silver back.” We also saw giraffes, zebras, and lots of koalas. I like the chimpanzees the best. The reptiles were cool. We saw a crocodile and a lot of snakes and frogs. We saw a seal that bounced a ball on its nose. We saw a bird show, kangaroos, and wallabies. |

| Joshua Michael LeBlanc (age 8) We went to the zoo yesterday. We saw a wombat and koalas. We saw spider monkies and kangaroos too. We saw parrots and seals and ducks. We saw the Sydney Opera House too. We went through a rainforest. We saw a silver back. We went on a skyrider. It was cool. We saw a De Brazza's Guenon -- that's a wierd name. We saw a little penguin, it's the smallest penguin. We saw an eagle and leopards. We saw tigers and foxes and a flamingo. We saw a malayantapir and a snow leopard and a himalayantahr. We saw meerkats and a red panda. We saw a noisypitta too. The last ones we saw were the giraffees. When we went on the sky rider it was like (the video game) "roller coaster tycoon". It was high. It was very very high. It was a big zoo, a really big zoo. |
