Peking Duck Dinner

My Chinese hosts are unbelievable. After taking me out to a lovely dinner the first night, they insisted we do it again the second night, but this time at the famous Peking Duck Restaurant. Many famous people dine there, pictures on the wall include Jimmy and Rosiland Carter, et al. The toasts are many(!!). We were drinking Maotaizhen, a very smooth (53%) alcohol, like a brandy. We drink it in small, glass shot glasses. They insisted I have my picture taken with the chef when he brought in the Duck. The last two pictures are on the way home at night after dinner. We were tired, having walked the Great Wall and Forbidden City during the day, so we hired a rickshaw. He wanted $30Y, Mr. Li said no way, $20Y ... but the diriver left. (Note: divide Yuan by six for $US). We continued walking and he showed up again: $30Y, $30Y. Nope. He left again, but 3 minutes later he was back: $25Y. Ok. So the picture is while we were getting a ride home. After he let us off, we still needed to cross the "street", about 5 lanes in each direction. We got caught in the middle ... which was fun since traffic was on both sides of us. Don't drive like my brother ...
