Tuesday, July 27, 2013: We rented a car in Dublin and drove straight west across the island to Galway. A quick walk from our BnB into town took us to the waters edge and a view of the Spanish Arch, shown in the first two pictures. Our destination on the advice of our new dear friend Anne Bercot was to "make sure we ate at Ard Bia at Nimmos; I will tell them to reserve a table near a window there for you." And of course, dinner was superb.

Wednesday, July 28, 2013: And so, the real driving begins! West of Galway (until you hit the North Atlantic coast and can go no more) we drove to Ballyconnelly (pronounced Bal-e-con-neely) to Anne Bercot's place: wow! Thatched roof and burning bog peat in the fireplace (you can see the pile of peat behind the rock-rebar sheep).
